Becoming Your Best Self - Top 3 Reasons to Live in the Present

The process of becoming your best self is a journey towards wholeness. Only when we are whole do we move through life with ease, purpose and success. I believe there are five steps towards wholeness.

Accept Responsibility for Your Life.
Focus on the Elements. [Another way to say this is "Work through your Barriers"].
Complete the Past.
Plan for the Future.
Live in the Present.

While most of us see the value in working towards wholeness, sometimes we get stuck in accepting, or practicing, an individual step.

As if wholeness was not enough, here are the top 3 reasons for Live in the Present:

You get to be 100% present and live consciously.
All you really have is the moment. The more consciously you live your life, the easier it is to grow and develop and focus on becoming your best self. Being capable of living in the present means that there is very little old stuff dragging you down. In turn, this allows us to put more energy into dealing with our daily life, making it flow more efficiently.

Staying present allows for appropriate responses to your life..
When you live "in" the moment, you respond appropriately and consciously to everything that comes your way. There is no guilt from the past or fear of the future coloring your responses. There are no unresolved buttons pushed which create inappropriate or misplaced responses. It's a very healthy place to be!

You save on therapy and counseling fees.
When you think about the reasons we go for therapy or counseling, the majority of those reasons stem from our guilt or anger from the past and our fears for the future. We very seldom focus on 'current' history, except in how it relates to our guilt or fear, our past or future. The beauty of living in the present is that you get to feel what you feel when you feel it. Acknowledging our legitimate feelings at the time allows you to express them and move on. That's the same as saying no therapy or counseling needed!

Non-Physical Conscious Awareness - Some of the Qualities

Human Consciousness can be measured with an Electro-Encephalograph (EEG) machine. What we do not see is the non-physical aspects in the Aura of the person - the electromagnetic field of energy that surrounds the Human Body.

The Human Aura is multi-dimensional; it is not just a shell-like field of energy which is like an egg around the body. It has different layers, which correspond to the different layers of the physical body: the Whole Body, Organs, Cells, Molecules, Atoms, Finer Particles, Light Body and Core Being or Vacuum.

As well as these layers we have the Energy Centres - Chakras - coming out like cones. As the colours of these cones merge with each other we see different colours of light being formed to give us a point in the Aura of each shade and hue.

You can watch the Aura having different shades of points of light, acting like radio tuners receiving similar frequencies from our environment; the Human Body can tune into all frequencies at the same time and we can interpret these with our emotions and feelings.

When we smile we can feel the energy in our cheeks extending out from our body like angel's wings or like a magnetic field; this is created within the body, as would happen in a bar magnet. The field of energy which our physical body creates extends out into the non-physical Aura and beyond, like the force field surrounding a magnet.

Our body is sensing the astrological influences from the planets, as we exist in the Earth's Magnetic Field. All these different electromagnetic levels of energy and force have an influence on our consciousness and our thoughts, feelings, and emotions.

We notice how we feel happier on a bright, sunny day than we do when dark storm clouds are over us.

We live in an invisible field of Electromagnetic Energy which covers the full spectrum: Gamma Rays, X-Rays, Ultraviolet, Visible Light, Infra-red, Radio Frequencies, etc. We are connected as One with this field of Energy and it is part of our Conscious Awareness.

As well as this natural electromagnetic field from our solar system, we are also influenced by the electromagnetic smog of mobile phones, TV and radio and all the other methods of man-made communication using this underlying field of energy in which we live.

Human consciousness can use the underlying electromagnetic field to send messages telepathically, and to get premonitions and déjà-vu insights.

The Universe uses this field of Power and Force in an effortless way, to bring about synchronicities in our life; our vibration draws to us the things which are patterned in our being; something magical seeks us out and happens in our life.

As more humans become aware of this non-physical electromagnetic field of energy, it grows stronger and the synchronicities happen more often. The accident rate is declining as everything acts as part of the whole and moves in a frictionless flow of life in Conscious Awareness.

Belief Makes You Stupid - The Old Consciousness at Work

Children are born intelligent. They are able to speak the truth about what they see. They able to see the world as it actually is. Of course, as they see it as it is, they begin to check-out of it. As the horrors of the world press in on them, they begin to move into the illusion of thought and belief.

As children, we are told what is polite to say; what to do and what not to do. We are forced into seeing the world as our parents see it, which is the way their parents taught them to see it. Gradually, our child brain becomes conditioned and trained to be the way the world is. In our childhood, we are forced to fit into an insane world. Instead of preparing the world for the child, the child is prepared for the world. We have to be made insane in order to fit into it.

Our child brain is conditioned to operate in a certain manner by the time we are four or five years of age. From then on, it's just a matter of adding more information to our already conditioned brains. Our world believes that gaining more information, and a lot of useless information at that, will make us more intelligent. More information actually gets the opposite result. Gaining more knowledge gives little room to "think" outside the box. The box of knowledge is the context of our lives and the content is the knowledge. We are being squeezed into insanity by ideas, beliefs, and the accumulation of knowledge. This is the world of illusion, not the world of reality

.We don't know what reality is. We are taught to believe. We actually go to elaborate buildings and worship some idea of a sky fairy or a supposedly son of a god who lived 2000 years ago or put our foreheads on the ground and our butts in the air or we kiss a wall or ring bells and count beads and all sorts of insanity. Belief makes everyone stupid, and stupid for allowing it.

Have our minds become so conditioned and lazy that we cannot question anything? Why do we just accept what we are told by our parents, the school, the churches, the governments? Do they all have one agenda in mind - to make us unquestioning sheep being led into the slaughter house of war by our beliefs? Is it not crazy for a real live human being to take up weapons to kill another over insane ideas and beliefs? When will we have the guts to stand up to the insanity of belief and say, "enough is enough"?

The old consciousness that has been our guide for thousands of years is no longer viable in our modern world. Perhaps it was necessary for our survival as we worked our way up the evolutionary ladder, but now, it is not only not useful, but it is also destroying us a species and destroying the earth for habitation by all other species.

Belief is the number one thing in the old consciousness that we need to drop and evolve out of. If we do not, we will more than likely not survive our own stupidity. Our survival depends on the evolution of the human mind from the old consciousness of violence into the new consciousness that is now being brought forth in the human. It is a transformation of mind. If accepted and embraced, it will bring forth intelligence, creation, truth, and love to the planet. If it is not embraced, the resistance to the new may well destroy us. Either way, the old will probably not go quietly. It is up to you.

 What will you do?

Creativity and Consciousness: Tools of Mass Construction

Whether or not we consider ourselves artists, we are all in the business of creating our lives. Each of us is here to bring to life that something that's unique to us. None of us is aiming for triteness, in pursuit of the shallow. It's greatness we're after--and not some hollow applause coming from somewhere beyond us, but the deep down thrill of knowing we went all out, put our soul into something, created a life that sparked something new, had an impact, could be of use.

We want our fire to blaze, to rage up and light some piece of night that someone's shivering into. We want our lives, our work to sizzle with passion, to ignite ideas and laughter and wonder and kindness, to spread hope like wildfire through these times of darkness. We're a culture in big trouble, making big mistakes, and everyone knows it. We need help, and it's the arts that can help us, because our soul is what's wounded, and that's where art goes--straight to the soul.

When a truth-telling poem, a heart-rending film or piece of music enters into us, it changes us. We feel connected again. That life force that surges through the tulips, the redwoods, the elk and the eagle stirs inside us and we remember. Yes, that's how it is. Yes, I feel that way. Yes, yes, I have that longing, I know that wonder, I've fallen into that same abyss.

The arts reflect us to ourselves. They are a mirror to our magnitude, evidence of our power as alchemists to transform the lead of our daily lives into stories and images that brighten the moment, lighten the load. The images we expose ourselves to govern our lives, alter our thoughts. The stories we tell reveal truths, mysteries, ways out of the dark that could help another in ways we never know.

Art returns us to a sense of relatedness, because true art, while it may be channeled through one artist, comes from the common soul. Its reference is universal. It points to the whole and is sourced from the whole. In A Room of One's Own, Virginia Woolf writes, "Masterpieces are not single and solitary births; they are the outcome of many years of thinking in common, of thinking by the body of the people, so that the experience of the mass is behind the single voice." This experience of the mass is what gives art its healing power, its prophetic strength and durability.

Artists are the ones who make the invisible visible, who give words and colors and sounds and shape to the human adventure. They portray it in such a way that we understand more clearly who we are, how we are connected. Italian poet and Nobel Prize winner Salvatore Quasimodo said that "poetry is the revelation of a feeling that the poet believes to be interior and personal but which the reader recognizes as his own." Nancy Mairs, in Voice Lessons, writes, "Our stories utter one another...If I do my job, the books I write vanish before your eyes. I invite you into the house of my past, and the threshold you cross leads you into your own."

While artists consciously choose, make it their business, to bring the interior outward, to create these thresholds for others to pass through, we each do this on a daily basis in one way or another. Aware or not, we are co-creating the world we live in--shedding light or shadow, bringing comfort or pain, adding energy to others, either positive or negative. Our days are the canvas for our creations and we are all artists of a kind, mirroring each other in the offerings we conjure.

Sheila Bender in Writing the Personal Essay writes that "there are feelings and longings we understand and accept in ourselves only when we recognize them in someone else's words, words that have never been ours to speak until we saw them written out of someone else's life." If you share your fears with me, or your joys or passions, you give me a way to better understand my own. Your speaking is a mirror in which I find myself. That is the gift of our self-expression. When we give shape to our interior world, put words to it, offer it to others, we are offering more than the eye can see.

This is why our creative work is so essential. It is not pointless or foolhardy. It is an act of faith, an act of kindness, crucial to our own healing and the healing of the planet. To create is to make something whole from the pieces of our lives, and in the process, to become more whole ourselves. It is a healing act, a leave-taking from the chaos as we move from the choppy surface toward the stillness of the center.

The creative journey inward is a heroic thing. It is a brave pilgrimage to the center of our lives where we mine our depths for what seeks to be released, transmuting one thing into another, turning tragedies and triumphs into new forms conjured in our private hours and offered to others like food for the soul, a wrap against the chill. It demands our stillness and rapt attention, calls for courage as we pass through the dark on the way to the light. And this is the journey that defines the artist, the new mythmaker.

To be an artist, it is not necessary to make one's living from one's creations. Nor is it necessary to have work hanging in fine museums or the praise of critics. It is not necessary that we are published or that famous people own our work. To be an artist it is necessary to live with our eyes wide open. To breathe in the colors of mountain and sky, to know the sound of leaves rustling, the smell of snow, the texture of bark. It is necessary to rub our hands all over life, to sing when and where we want, and to jump when we get to the edge of the cliff.

To be an artist is to notice every beautiful and tragic thing. To cry freely. To collect experiences and shape them into forms that can be of use. It is not to whine about not having time, but to be creative with every moment. To be an artist is not to wait for others to define us, but to define ourselves, to claim our lives.

Our cities and towns are full of poets, playwrights, composers, painters who drive buses, work in offices, wait on tables to pay the rent, but the work they do in their creative hours is the work that truly keeps them alive. Few among us call ourselves artists. Few of us are paid much for our creative work, so we squeeze it into the hours we have left after working other jobs to pay the bills. We write our novels in the wee hours of the morning, work in our darkrooms through the night, write poetry on subway cars, finish essays in waiting rooms and parking lots.

We rarely think of ourselves as artists, though it is our creative work that brings us to life, feeds our spirits, and sees us through the dark. We may feel alone, but we are not alone, as there are hundreds, thousands in the night doing as we do, trading this time for the bliss of creating.

The answers to the crises we're facing as a family will not come from beyond, but will surface from below as we quiet our lives, call upon our wisdom, give voice to our soul in all the ways we can. We hunger for creations that feed and sustain us-- for images, music, films and novels that wrestle with the issues and questions of the day, unfold their complexities, enliven our passions, and reawaken our drowsy imaginations.

As shapers of this culture, let us come to the task with the verve and vigor of true creators. Let us embrace each day as an empty canvas, our thoughts and words the brush and palette. Let us mine our lives for the jewels they offer, weaving tales worth telling to the ones to come. And let us remember, in the darkest of times, that you and I are the light of the world--our voices like candles, our love like the sun.

The End

Expanded Orgasm, Expanded Consciousness

Expanded Orgasm is the art and science of expanding both sensual awareness and consciousness through giving and receiving genital stimulation. Expanded Orgasm uses one's own pathways of body, mind, emotion and spirit to create maximum expansion opportunities- the goal and focus being simply to feel as much pleasure potential as possible.'

Patricia Taylor, PhD.

The history of Expanded Orgasm goes back to 1976 when Vic Baranco gave a woman a 3hr orgasm.

However the principle of this can be traced back thousands of years to ancient times. Many ancient cultures were aware of the power of sex and spent a great deal of time learning and practicing various techniques. Those who had been trained in these arts were often revered and the demand for their services was high.

Most sexual experiences are contractive in nature and therefore of short duration. The build up of pleasure may be long and take time but the peak of pleasure is very short lived and localized.

As we get closer to a 'traditional' orgasm the body tenses and contracts, muscles tighten and our breathing gets quicker. At the point of orgasm, the release of tension, we experience the explosion. After this there is a period of release and relaxation before we can experience the build up and explosion again. For many people the time in between can be long, often having to wait for the perfect opportunity and setting.

The different paths that men and women follow to orgasm also influence this. In fact this difference often leads to dissatisfaction and frustration.

The education and attitude of society also impacts on our view of sexuality and sensuality. In fact the practice of sexuality and the use of sexual energy is probably the most misunderstood and manipulated energy in the world. Something that was designed to be so pleasurable, to create such intimacy and love is, in thought and practice, so feared.

The truth of this is that we fear pleasure for the freedom it brings us. The fullness of pleasure connects us with the highest we are, the most we can be. It allows our creativity free rein; it brings out the deepest and most expansive areas of our imagination. It set's us free from any control.

This freedom brings with it great responsibility for our actions. If we are in charge of our lives and our world then we have to look very carefully at what we are creating. We need to examine the quality of our relationships, the goals of our lives and the society we are building.

The fullness of pleasure also means that we can be happy, truly, deeply, really happy. We generally struggle with the idea of being too happy for too long, expecting the bubble to burst. Many industries have been created and thrive on our unhappiness and pain.

A world based on pleasure would be a very different world. I believe that many of the social and political conditions that exist can change with an expanded consciousness.

It has been said by many people in the human growth fields that we don't or won't give up our illnesses and pains because we have nothing to replace them with. They have given us so much self-definition, so firm an identity.

How about replacing them with pleasure, with ecstasy?

The Expanded Orgasm technique is one possibility that can change so much of how we see our bodies, relationships, our lives and ourselves.

The learning of Expanded Orgasm is reasonably simple and with some practice most people become proficient.

The expansion of pleasure that this brings is enormous. A 'traditional' orgasm last for +- 30 seconds. YOU CAN BE IN AN ORGASMIC STATE FOR 30 or 40 MINUTES OR EVEN LONGER. The words of that alone, an ORGASMIC state, are enough to make the heart beat faster. It redefines our perception and experience of pleasure. The purely physical sensation of being in this state for so long simply has to be experienced to be understood. Many people have written and spoken about the feelings but all agree that understanding it can only come from feeling it.

The Expanded Orgasm technique includes education about men and women's genitals. This is so important as few people have this knowledge. The intricacies of women's genitals remain a mystery for many men and they are unable to fulfill their partners satisfactorily.

Women find the Expanded Orgasm experience extremely fulfilling, physically and emotionally. As their partner's know how and where to touch the pleasure is great. Most women talk about how beautiful they feel during and after the experience. Many women struggle to achieve orgasm but this changes after learning and experiencing the technique.

For men this brings a totally new perspective to the sexual experience. Most men are goal-oriented in a sexual situation. The goal being an orgasm. As soon as we get into this mind set we lose out on the wonders of the journey, the excitement of getting there and all the delicious sensations along the way.

The possibilities of Expanded Orgasm for men include orgasm without ejaculation and even multiple orgasms. For thousands of years in the East

there has been an awareness that orgasm and ejaculation are not the same thing. The experience of an orgasm on it's own has many benefits. I always make a joke and say for men the term should be 'going', not 'coming', because after the ejaculation most men are gone, ready for sleep.

An orgasm without the ejaculation allows the energy to be kept and circulated in the body. This alone gives a man a very different, often deeper and more intense physical experience. It also leads to a feeling of deep emotion. This is often accompanied by a release of stored and unexpressed feelings.

The practice of Expanded Orgasm on men has also been highly beneficial in helping men who suffer from premature ejaculation and assist men to last much longer during lovemaking.

Expanded Orgasm is a safe-sex technique; no penetration or oral sex is involved. This also makes it possible for people who are not in relationship to share for the pleasure and healing, the well-being that it brings without the 'complications' of sex.

Couples who have learned this comment on the increased intimacy it gives them. New channels of communication are opened; there is a greater interest in sex and sensuality, in sharing and loving.

The benefits of Expanded Orgasm are only beginning to be studied.

These include:

Reduction in sympathetic (adrenaline-like) nervous function.

Increase in parasympathetic (associated with relaxation and well-being).

A release of beneficial hormones and balancing of their levels.

A sense of peace, wholeness and well-being.

A sense of mental clarity and increased ability to solve problems intuitively and in new ways.

Strengthened self-esteem and an increased sense of power and effectiveness in life.

A sense of heightened spirituality.

And a lot more fun!

Expanded Orgasm offers a doorway to Expanded Consciousness. We can live with ecstasy everyday. We can grow through joy and sharing. We can have more pleasure than we thought possible. We can be happy, healthy and peaceful.

Use Your Prosperity Consciousness to Make Money

Prosperity is often associated with money. The more money you have, the more prosperous you become. This has become a common belief that is false.

Most of our lives, we have been taught by the our instinct and society to be "go-getters"; meaning, we have been taught to always grab the opportunity to make money as much as we can to have a prosperous living. But for most people who believe in this, seem to have the opposite situation of what they want, resulting to depression and regret.

In order to turn your life around now, let us define first prosperity. Prosperity and a prosperous living is defined as a successful, flourishing and thriving condition. As you can see in the definition, there was no term "money" used. Because it has nothing to do with the money!

The reason behind poverty among us in spite being "go-getters", is that we are not in our prosperity state; there are perceptions among ourselves, the people around us and the world that takes away the feeling of being successful, thriving and receptive to the money to come in.

When your prosperous consciousness is awake, you are more open to the ways to make money, more effective in your job or business, open to other money making ideas, and attracting prosperity partners. Only after then the money will start pouring in, and even you might not believe how much abundance is available. The people around you will just watch you in awe.

If you want to make more money, you have to be and feel prosperous first, because people who are in this state are the ones who will attract money.

This is a simple exercise that can put you in that state, doing this regularly can awaken your prosperity consciousness.

List 10 things or more that is wonderful in your life on the top of your mind. What are you thankful for? What makes you happy everyday? What are the resources or skills you have that are you thankful for? Doing this regularly connects you to your prosperous state, opening your mind to new horizons. Do it now and feel the shift of your mind and feelings.

Personal Growth - Failure Consciousness Versus Success Consciousness

After hearing a number of recommendations for the book Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, I downloaded a copy to listen to in the car. One of the first things the book says is to take it one chapter at a time, really absorb each one and integrate the ideas slowly, making them your own. Having to spend the next 2 hours in the car I initially scoffed at listening to just one chapter. The first profound statement hit me as the book unfolded in the first chapter. It said 'the goal of this book is to help you move from a failure consciousness to a success consciousness'. I did indeed stop the book after the first chapter and give it some thought, which quickly made me realize how much of my life I have spent with a failure consciousness.

A little over a month ago, I attended a seminar through work called 'PowerCamp'. PowerCamp is a program that helps people to find their own voice, their own power within, to strengthen their own lives in the workplace and at home. Before going to the seminar, I had put some ideas in place for what I needed to work on. These were primarily around overcoming fears - not only fears that kept me from moving forward in many areas of my life, but I also what I called my 'fear of discovery' - that someone would uncover at some point that I had no idea what I was doing. I needed to overcome the thoughts that what I accomplished on a day to day basis was not worthy of recognition.

During the seminar while discussing with one of the coaches what I was hoping to accomplish with my experience at PowerCamp, she stopped me in the middle to make a point. I had been talking about how I had swum competitively most of my young life, from 5 years old to 18 years old in various swim clubs as well as in high school. She very astutely pointed out that had been wired in my formative years to measure my success by swim times, placement in races, and the opinions of coaches and parents always telling me to work harder - good was not good enough. Wired so much for so many years that I still look for similar validation today. However there are no times or race placements to validate what I do with my life outside of swimming. I realized that I viewed so many things I did as sub-par or failures, because I was trying to measure against something that did not exist anymore. This revelation was the beginning of freeing those thoughts of failure and underachievement.

Now looking back on life, I see so many more successes than failures. It has taken time to turn these views around and it is a daily process. Add the profound statement this morning of failure consciousness and success consciousness, I am also seeing my successes so much clearer. When I graduated high school in 1980, I chose not to go to college. I went to work in a few odd jobs, and ultimate got a great entry level job in computers that over the next 25 years enabled me to build a very successful career in the Information Technology industry. Throughout that career, I always felt less competent and less talented than those that had college degrees, yet I knew I was running circles around most of them at work.

That thought of failing to acquire a college degree kept me minimizing the success in my career for over 25 years. Now looking back, I see nothing but success. The fact that I was able to, on a C-average high school education, establish a long and well respected career in the computer industry, manage and lead large teams of people, and hold over 5 completely different and challenging positions, shows me that I have had huge success - and in no way was it a failure. The lesson was a long time coming, but now that it is positive instead of negative, I am embracing the feeling of that success.

About 15 years ago, I made a significant career change. I moved from being an independent computer programmer to being an instructor for a big time software company. When I decided to make such a big leap, I knew it was life changing and I had the confidence that I could make the change. But because of the insecurities around my missing degree, fear of failing motivated me for years to work hard and be very successful at the company. If I had gone into such a big career change with a success consciousness instead of failure consciousness, I may have had even more success. No regrets, but the profound statement of today has made me realize that having a success consciousness will only bring that success to you in greater amounts, because you believe you will be successful and that failure is not an option - or even a word that should enter your mind.

I now embark on another new challenge, altering my career path by becoming an entrepreneur and starting my own business. Instead of going in, hoping that I do not fail, I have gone in knowing that I will be successful. I feel it, sense it, and own the feeling of success and it is mine for the taking. Take it upon yourself to ask - do you operate under a failure consciousness or a success consciousness, and what do you need to do to move to the success side of that question?
