How To Reach A Higher State Of Consciousness

Higher states of consciousness are naturally interesting to people because we all inherently know that things are simply easier to understand when we aren't lost in our usual day to day problems that plague us from day to day. There are rare experiences when we are able to see the higher meaning of our lives and these moments help us to achieve greater clarity and value in the things we do.

In addition to the higher value and clarity that we can all achieve in a higher state of consciousness, we can also alleviate the negative feelings that come from our normal day to day routine. Higher states of consciousness transcend all of our negative emotions and leave us feeling as though we were "floating on air" in a perfect state of peace and contentedness. With such great promise as this, it is a great wonder that these higher states are so rarely reached and that the secret to their achievement often seems so hard to discover.

The reason why the difficulties arise has to do with a fundamental difference between what is called "theory" and what is called "application". In "theory", we know that higher states of consciousness exist and we can talk about them, read about them and think about them to no end. In "application", however, we find that we must actually begin to do things that are more real and concrete.

Thinking and reading and talking are all very concrete things and yet they often aren't concrete enough to bring about a higher state of consciousness. Our thinking and our books can only take us so far until we find that we actually need to transcend ourselves and go even further. This makes spiritual work seem extremely hard or even impossible for most people. We often decide to just "give up" and later on we discover that our "giving up" was actually part of the spiritual process which was necessary in order that we approach our task from a new angle.

Having "given up" on spiritual efforts, we discover that there is still a part of us which seeks those same higher states of consciousness that we originally set out to achieve. With a new strategy and a more open attitude, we reach a proverbial "second wind" which is mentioned in the classic spiritual book The Cloud of Unknowing. In this book, the anonymous writer explains how an initial effort to reach a higher state of consciousness often fails but that a person who returns to the effort again after years of "giving up" is almost sure to reach those higher states which they first set out to attain.

The basic effort that is required to reach these states has to do with letting go of negative emotions and becoming more aware of ourselves in the present moment. We can practice these things each day but often find that they are very hard to achieve for any extended period of time. Letting go of our grief, anger, fear and guilt are all part of what spiritual effort is all about but actually doing these things turns out to be much harder than we first imagined. Watching ourselves, observing our thoughts and coming to understand ourselves better are also important elements of spiritual effort but these things only come slowly over years of work and long hours of reading, writing and participating in spiritual groups. The efforts sometimes seem to much for many people after one or two years and they eventually become distracted by something and fall away from their path.

Falling away from the path is a normal part of spiritual growth and can actually be viewed as a positive step forward after some initial effort has truly been expended. If the person who falls away from their path doesn't fall too far off course, they can often find a renewed hope in the idea that there is a "second wind". This second wind is something that often indicates a true spiritual seeker and someone who has come to understand the true meaning of devotion and dedication to spiritual principles.

If you are intent on reaching a higher state of consciousness, it will be important for you not to forget your second wind. Many people begin on a spiritual path and even reach certain higher states of consciousness in the beginning. The true spiritual devotee, however, is that person who has come to a seeming end in their path and has actually fallen away for a time to wonder how a higher state of consciousness can truly be reached. It is only after their second wind that they truly come to see what higher states of consciousness are really all about. Good luck to you on your path and don't forget your second wind!

Have God Awareness Without Higher Consciousness or Try God Consciousness With a Higher Awareness

Whether you're aware of it or not, your spirit has an ongoing connection with the astral space that is around you and also inside of you. Just about everyone has had many small events of God Consciousness without full awareness but these are all that most people will ever have in a lifetime. Others who actively seek for higher consciousness can become God aware with their conscious awareness.

Have you ever been driving while seriously thinking about a problem in your life? You travel along while pondering and suddenly you realize you have absolutely no recollection of the stretch of road you've just driven on. It was like you were totally zoned out but yet you hadn't hit the ditch. The time just disappeared into some kind of weird twilight zone or was whisked into a black hole.

Similarly, have you ever been watching television while thinking about a problem? Then as if time had suddenly accelerated to light speed and back, the program you were viewing is ended but you have no clue what happened while you seemingly blacked out. But you didn't slump in your chair and you're sure you didn't sleep. Again, it's like time itself got sucked up into a great cosmic vacuum cleaner.

What happened to your awareness during those driving or television watching events I've just described? Well, you enjoyed a mild episode of God consciousness. It probably wasn't all that mild to your spirit and it was likely quite productive too. I'm willing to bet that shortly after one of these types of time lapses, you suddenly happened onto the perfect idea or an epiphany that resolved the problem you had been pondering when your awareness took a vacation. God awareness works like that and as you can see, God consciousness is effective even when you don't recall the actual experience of it.

So where did your consciousness go? What did your awareness do while it was away on the brief holiday and why did an ideal answer to your problem suddenly appear in your mind as if sent on a postcard from the beyond?

To describe what actually happens in an event of God Consciousness, I'll compare it to the related but opposite paranormal phenomena of astral projection. During an astral projection, your awareness projects outwards and leaves your body and mind behind. During a God awareness event though, your consciousness also projects out but instead of leaving the body and mind behind, the awareness focuses its attention back at the body and mind. And you see yourself exactly as you really are.

People that have survived a death experience often report they 'saw their life flash before their eyes'. What they really had was a God consciousness experience but unlike the one you may have had while driving or watching television, they retain a full recollection of the detailed view of the total self that a God awareness provides.

You may have found the answer to a particular problem in your life with your blind God awareness event during what you supposed was just a brief blackout. Can you just imagine what you could do with a complete recall available with God awareness meditation? God consciousness provides perfect information you can chart a true course forward into a much better life with.

God consciousness meditation to achieve higher awareness with full recollection is not really all that difficult. You just have to work at it and choose when you will make an attempt. Had a portion of your intellect not been left behind to pilot your vehicle, a nasty accident would've ensued. And as for the watching television, well, you would not have to worry about a collision in your living room but a television set sucks out your intellect so your awareness wasn't available to go anywhere.

There are excellent tools and techniques to expand your consciousness. I'm Ernest Z Anton and I'll help you to find your capabilities at remote viewing, lucid dreaming, astral projecting, aspiring to higher awareness and other amazing mind developments.

Conscious Evolution - The Shift Happens When You Align With Your Higher Self

If you accept the idea that your higher self is in charge of your life and that your higher self had deliberately planned for you to experience certain challenges in your life so that you would gain wisdom (and deep understanding and appreciation) by living through them, you may wonder why it now requires a conscious effort on the part of your ego personality self to reconnect to the higher self within (conscious evolution).

Why isn't the process of conscious evolution automatic? Why can't you just go on autopilot instead of needing to consciously cultivate a relationship with your higher self? Why do you need to make a conscious decision and a deliberate effort to begin the process, why do you need to align with your higher self, why do you need to do anything different than what you've already been doing?

Well, you have been going pretty much on autopilot according to the challenges your higher self had planned for you to grow through and if you're completely thrilled with where you are right now, I would not recommend any changes. But if you would rather experience upliftment, if you'd rather begin to grow through joy rather than pain and suffering (because you think you've evolved enough spiritually and you're ready to make that switch), I'd recommend you make an effort to reconnect to your higher self and begin the process of conscious evolution now. Because this is what is going to cause a shift in your consciousness, and then in your life.

It's easy to keep something going when it's already in motion, when it already has momentum. But to be able to create a new experience or to change a direction in your life, you need to make a deliberate effort. That's why they call it conscious evolution.

You need to get past the inertia that's present. (Inertia is the resistance or disinclination to motion, action, or change.) When you're in the latter stages of momentum, it may only take, say, one unit of effort to yield 10 units of returns. But when you're beginning something new, at first it may seem to take 10 units of effort to yield one unit of return.

The good news is, if you make the effort it won't take long to see some results so that you are motivated to continue the process. It is this process of conscious evolution that will eventually lead you to your "Golden Age." (While this won't take long, it's not instantaneous either.)

If you choose to ignore your higher self it will try to get your attention with increasingly drastic measures. It's pretty obvious this is what's happening in the world right now. You have free will as to when you begin, but don't worry, it's all perfect. Whatever happens, it's just your higher self trying to teach you something. Call it tough love, if you want, but eventually we will all make it through.

Andrew Cohen, founder and Editor-In-Chief of EnlightenNext Magazine (formerly Enlightenment Magazine) says this well: "An extraordinary latent potential for unbridled creative engagement and egoless compassion lies deep within us, waiting to be released into this world. But most of us don't see this, or if we do, we don't realize that it is not going to happen by itself. At this juncture in human history, the evolution of our species requires one thing and one thing only--our conscious, whole-hearted participation. We bear a profound responsibility to be evolutionary pioneers."

Are you ready to begin your conscious evolution?

Who Am I? An Introduction to Higher Levels of Consciousness

I began asking the question, "Who Am I?" some fifty years ago when I was co-owner of the Trivia Coffee House in Trenton, New Jersey. At the Triv. everyone was writing stream of consciousness novels and poetry, or at least dreaming about doing so. More than Beat literature it was the writing of Henry Miller that opened up a whole new reality for me. I began to realize the truth of his statement, "Every thing they tell you is a lie... Everything!" Reading Miller, I began to question all the values that I had accepted since childhood. Somehow, I got turned on to Jungian and Freudian psychology during the Triv. period also.

Discovery of the personal and collective unconscious opened another avenue of investigation. When our coffee house failed, Vance and I split for Alaska deciding to go off on our own to find, "What it's all about man?" And, it didn't take us too long to discover that earning a living is what it's all about in Twentieth Century America. So, discovering who I am is put on the back burner while I begin to take classes at Oakland City College. When I earn my Master's in History and begin my teaching career in 1967, the search is pushed further back.

It is not until 1969 when I quit my first teaching job, and begin driving cab in Oakland that I get back into it. Driving cab, I begin reading Henry Miller again, and discovered poets like Walt Whitman, Dylan Thomas, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, philosophers like Henri Bergson, and spiritual teachers like Krishnamurti. Two plus years on the streets of Oakland, Berkeley, and San Francisco leave a mark on me that could not be erased not even after finding another teaching job and going back to my career in education.

Discovering the meaning of life once again became my reason for being.

In the early seventies, we moved to a hundred year old house in the middle of a sheep ranch. It was there that I put to practice the teachings of Castaneda. In the mid 1980's, I discovered the Gurdjieff School and began to practice Self Remembering. I continued to study Krishnamurti learning that the word is never the reality that exists outside of thought.

In the pages that follow, we will explore concepts from Gurdjieff, Krishnamurti and other teachers who state that man can reach a higher level of consciousness if he works on himself. We will discuss self-observation, and Self Remembering, and discover how the "human machine" works. We will investigate negative emotions, identifying, internal considering, conditioning, and other obstacles to awakening. We will examine the difference between personality and essence, and try to discover man's real purpose in life.

Gurdjieff maintains that man as he is is asleep, but can awaken with super effort. The greatest obstacle to awakening is the fact that we think we are awake. According to Gurdjieff, there are four levels of consciousness, sleep, waking sleep, self-consciousness, and objective consciousness. In sleep, there is very little consciousness of the out side world though there is some. In waking sleep, we think we are fully conscious, but we are so conditioned and identified that we do not see things as they really are. In self-consciousness, we remember ourselves and are aware of our relationship to the inner and outer worlds. In objective consciousness, we see things as they really are.

We begin with Self Observation. We have to develop an Observing I. This means at various times of the day we must separate, step back, and take an uncritical look at ourselves, a snap shot. We have to use different centers. Sometimes, we can think about a situation after it happens and see certain qualities, certain 'I's behaving in a way that we had not thought possible. Other times, we can experience what is happening while it is happening as if we were divided in half, one side watching, while the other side is acting. Here too, we use centers usually more than one at the same time. In Self Observation, we become conscious of the acts that we do. Maurice Nicoll, a student of The Work, says that Self Observation is observation of the inner self, what is going on inside your self.

In Self-Remembering, we separate our self from our self, we empty our self of the ego. All of our centers are quiet. We go beyond our every day self. Self-Remembering is catching the rope that lifts you out of the continuum of time into the eternal present moment, HERE AND NOW! Nicoll states that one difference between Self Remembering and Self Observation is that the feeling of Eternity enters into Self Remembering but not into Self Observation. Self-Remembering is in one way a form of meditation. It is meditating during your daily relations with life.

One of the main reasons for our sleep is that we do not understand how our machine works. What is it that controls our very sophisticated and complicated machine? We have a very complicated machine. There is the respiratory system, the circulatory system, and the nervous system. We have all these millions of nerves and neurons, billions of cells... You know, we study everything, but our human machine. We know how a car engine works, how a computer works, but we don't know how our machine works. Who is in control of our machine.

Let me tell you a little about our machine. First of all, we have seven centers, a thinking center, a moving center an instinctive center, and an emotional center. The fifth center is the sexual center, but work on that comes later. The higher thinking center and the higher emotion center cannot communicate with man until the lower centers are working correctly. Thinking Center controls thought. This is the center that we develop in school. The emotional center controls emotions, feelings. When you are bored, or angry, or happy, it doesn't come from your thinking center, it comes from your emotional center. The moving center controls your movements. You know how if you're playing basketball at first you have to think about your moves. But, once you learn to play if you think about what you are going to do thought gets in the way.... When we are driving to work, we don't think about how to drive. Once we learn to drive the moving center takes control.

In most of us one of our centers is dominant. In myself, it is the emotional center, but with all my years at school, my thinking center runs a close second. You can look at co-workers and tell what their dominant center is. As a teacher, I have observed that most P.E. teachers function from their moving centers. An art or drama teacher generally functions from his or her emotional center. Math and science teachers function from their thinking centers. Ask yourself which center do I use when I have to make an important decision. Do you do what feels right? Do you give a lot of thought to your decisions? Or do you kind of sense what is the right decision?

None of our centers are doing their own work. Because we are not conscious of our different centers, each center is doing the work of other centers. (Centers six and seven do not function at all in unconscious man.) Each center works with different energy and often one center will steal the energy of another center and work with energy that is too rich for it.

Each center is divided into three parts, moving, emotional, and thinking parts. We spend most of our time in the moving part of centers. This requires no attention so our centers operate mechanically. You can tell which part of a center you are in by the direction of your attention. If you are in the moving part of a center, there is no attention. You function mechanically. If you are in the emotional part of a center, the attention is drawn by the outside object. In the intellectual part of a center there is directed attention. If you are in the thinking part of your thinking center, you are conscious of your thoughts at this moment, and, to some extent, able to express them. To get into higher parts of centers requires conscious effort.

Another division of centers has to do with their direction. In the external division, a center is directed towards the outer world. The center is directed by the senses. This is sensual man, natural man. The Middle division directs centers either to the outer or the inner world. It can reason in two directions, or feel in two directions, etc. This is rational man. The inner division directs centers towards the inner world, the invisible world. This is spiritual man. (The invisible world does exist, as in thought, consciousness, light waves, atoms, etc.)

In the Work, we are told to take nothing on faith. If you are at all interested in changing your level of being, check out some of the concepts that I have mentioned. Are you awake? Do you have more than one center that controls your actions? Do you ever stop to examine how your machine works?

Noah, the Ark, and Higher Consciousness

This week I want to address a story in the Bible that we all learned as children. It is the story of Noah and the ark. For those of us who haven't studied much ancient history, this story appears-under different names with slightly different variations-in the history of cultures across multiple continents. So what's the real meaning of this universal story?

The literal rendition of this story yields some pretty amazing and highly improbable events. Imagine being tossed around in a boat for forty days and forty nights sitting on an ocean that covered the highest mountains on earth. Not only would the air be so thin that it would be impossible to breathe, but you would literally freeze to death since Mt. Everest sits at about 30,000 feet. At its summit, temperatures can drop to 60 below zero, and in the summer it never gets above freezing. Break out the oxygen tanks and thermal blankets!

So what's this story all about, anyway? Was it really a judgment from God condemning all the people on earth to a watery grave except for Noah, his family, and the animals? Or is there a deeper spiritual meaning the Biblical author would like us to walk away with? For those who are spiritually and consciously ready, I think the later is in order.

I want to point out something for my readers who still might be frightened by the word "esoteric" that keeps popping up in my blog post. Many are under the impression that this word signifies secret teaching, but that's not really the case. Jesus stated the kingdom does not come by observation because it is "within" you! Now apply this same concept to the word esoteric. By esoteric I am simply meaning teachings or stories that are meant to be internalized. The story of Noah and the ark is meant to be understood the same way. The esoteric rendering of this story can teach us much about where we need to be concerning our spiritual development and consciousness.

Many stories and literal structures in the Bible represent the human mind and brain. In an earlier post I showed how Ezekiel's millennial temple, which can be found on my website, is exactly that. The story of Noah is also symbolic of the mind. Before delving into this, let's briefly review the literal story:

At the time of Noah, the earth had become corrupted. God wanted to cleanse his creation, so he devised a plan to flood the earth and rid it of its wickedness. And why was man considered wicked? Genesis states that man was wicked because his thoughts and imaginations were evil (Gen 6:5). I have emphasized the word "thoughts" in the previous sentence because of its relevance to the esoteric rendering of this story, which we'll address shortly. But first, it is important to know that one of the meanings for "man" in that same verse and many other verses of Genesis means "low." The concept here is a low man, and the evil thoughts of the low man in the literal story represent the lower or animalistic nature of the mind. In Genesis 6:9, we learn that Noah is the exception. He is described as a "just man." There is a different Hebrew word for man here, and one of the meanings is "high." Noah was a "high man" that lived a spiritual life instead of an ego-driven one, and so Noah is representative of a higher state of consciousness. Noah's name is also relevant to all of this. Noah means "rest." This is perhaps the most significant of all, for Noah represents not only the higher nature of the mind, but also a mind at "rest." A mind at rest is the state of being which salvation is.

The problem with the lower ego-driven mind is that it is not very conscious; this type of mind goes through life by reacting to situations instead of acting. The individual has little control, and even though he or she thinks they are making their own decisions, they are usually just acting from emotion and instinct. This is natural for the lower mind. But the story of Noah was written to teach us to live spiritually, not carnally (ego-driven).

In the literal story the water is purifying the earth by killing all evil thoughts and imaginations of man. These thoughts and imaginations are the lower mind. Noah, who represents the mind at rest, rises ABOVE the evil "thoughts" below the ark because the flood is a type of baptism in which the lower mind is cleansed. This state of being brings salvation not only to himself, but to his family as well.

Similarly, those in Jesus / WORD/ Christ are saved when they develop Christ consciousness, which represents a state of being. It is a consciousness transformation.

My article on Adam and Eve and how that story relates to consciousness may shed more light on this subject for you. It can be found here.

So what do you think? Can you now see how the story of Noah and the ark is another Biblical example of the mind?

Higher Consciousness - What Is It? Can You Attain It?

The importance of attaining higher consciousness is regularly mentioned in connection with spiritual awakening and growth, but there's been very little consensus about what it actually is. As Seneca pointed out, "If one does not know to which port one is sailing, no wind is favorable." We can look to spiritual sages for understanding, but there's another source that can clarify their words. Although quantum physicists weren't originally researching consciousness, they uncovered information that's offering fresh and surprising insights into consciousness.

Consciousness is generally defined as the ability to be aware of our own existence. Or, we can think of it as a tool used to create an inner reality that makes sense to us. Clearly, without consciousness we would have no sense of our own existence, and no ability to understand our place within the whole. When we think in terms of "lower" and "higher" levels of consciousness, it implies an awareness of existence on more than one plane. This thought echoes the concept of a "higher" and "lower" self.

What does science tell us about consciousness? A group of scientists known as material realists believe only matter exists. They claim that consciousness is a product of evolution and is simply a brain function that's another form of matter. If material realists were correct, that would mean consciousness would exist only in creatures that are highest on the evolutionary ladder. In that case, consciousness higher than what humans already possess could not exist. Although material realists have diligently tried to discover how matter produced consciousness, all their attempts have failed.

On the other hand, quantum research has demonstrated that consciousness permeates even the most elemental particles in the universe. This fact indicates that consciousness was present at the beginning of the universe and has always been an integral part of everything in existence. This discovery also informs us that consciousness can, and does, exist apart from matter and outside of time/space.

Scientists now understand that consciousness is a field we exist within, rather than something we possess. Instead of producing consciousness, the brain acts as a receiver that picks up and processes consciousness that exists outside it. Although matter takes up only 1/3 of the universe, we usually think of the space that surrounds it as "empty." However, this "zero point field" is actually packed with energy and acts as an enormous storehouse of consciousness and memory.

Spiritual sages have long considered this matrix of consciousness and energy to be a Divine Ground, the One Mind of God that's shared by all of existence. As physicists delve deeper into the quantum realm, many of them are beginning to agree. This means that the Divine Mind literally permeates everything in existence, and this is where the concept of higher consciousness comes in. Although everything that exists is conscious, it would be ridiculous to claim that everything is equally aware. We can think of consciousness as a light that's either on or off, but intelligence and awareness as a rheostat that can be dialed up or down. So how do we ratchet up our awareness and attain higher consciousness?

As strange as it seems, research demonstrates that the quantum foundation of the universe is real, while the material universe is a virtual reality. Spiritual sages have explained for centuries that our world is an illusion, and they've been proven correct. They tell us that we've turned our back on the oneness of All That Is to experience separation and specialness. To do this, we had to alter our level of awareness so that we could project an illusion of separate identities and private thoughts. The brain assists us in carrying out this charade by imposing its logic and veiling our connection with the Divine Mind.

It's as if we had been living in a beautiful sunlit mansion but shut ourselves into a tiny, windowless basement room and stayed there so long, we forgot the mansion existed. Our forgetfulness couldn't negate the mansion's existence, but it certainly changed our level of awareness. When spiritual masters speak about "higher consciousness," they're reminding us that we can wake up from our illusion and reconnect with the One Mind.

How do we regain our connection with the One Mind? In the Gospel of Thomas Jesus said, "Where the beginning is, the end will be." In other words, we reconnect by letting go of thoughts that promote separation and specialness and replace them with the desire for oneness. As we let go of our belief preconceived notions, we open ourselves to willingly hear what the Divine Mind wants to tell us. This change of thinking brings us out of the basement and back into the sunlight of higher consciousness. None of us have ever left the field of the One Mind, now we only need to become aware of it.

Relationships Are More Fulfilling When We Integrate Higher Awareness Into Our Lives

Many relationships can come to a time where there's a gap and we probably look to outside sources to fill that void. When we look to outside sources to fill in that gap we also walk away from our personal evolution. The voids we experience are supposed to challenge us to look within to see where we can grow to inspire a new spark to our relationship.

Looking within means to connect with ourselves, understand our higher consciousness. There's a lot more to life than living day to day and looking forwards to free time and entertainment. There is energy all around that surrounds us and connects us, we live in a universe that is constantly changing and evolving. In other words, there is a bigger picture to look at and the best way to connect with it is to connect with ourselves first.

This wakes up our consciousness which opens many doors to living life on a much wider scale. Living with this purpose also inspires our relationships to be much more fulfilling. All we have to do is to open ourselves up first and this will inspire our partner to follow. Once this expanded consciousness catches on, it could be either one of us that inspires each other.

Applying this to our relationships will bring us much closer to each other. The connection grows much stronger that we are more fulfilled and focused on each other. This can reduce a lot of the insecurities that cause problems and give room to each other to work on insecurities. Working on our insecurities is one of the ways we can really connect with ourselves and our higher consciousness. Working on them gives us purpose and bring us closer to our dreams. This is the bigger picture.

We have been conditioned in our society to avoid looking at these things or talking about them. That fear has been conditioned in us, therefore we have to learn to overcome this fear. This fear doesn't have true value for its existence and we have to realize that. Why are we afraid of seeking our true potential? Everybody knows that no one is perfect and that we all have problems. Working on them is what makes us better people. Yet, many of us are conditioned to get defensive when we are confronted about the symptoms that our problems create. These arguments create very little progression and personal evolution.

When we connect with ourselves with the desire to become better people, we can develop the compassion and understanding that inspires other to change as well. When we are not afraid of the fact that we are here to learn and become better people, we allow others to open up towards constructive change. This compassion and understanding takes people away from their defensive reactions.

When we are open about growing out of our fears and insecurities, we can connect more and more with our higher consciousness. We can see that there is so much more to love and life that what we were conditioned to understand. We can really bring the best out of each other and evolve towards true happiness. It's all about freeing our minds.

The last thing that can hold us back is not knowing how to overcome our fear. That can be a very difficult task to do when we look in the wrong direction. We look the wrong way when we use our minds to try to overcome our fears. It is like trying to love with our minds where we feel love through our hearts. It is best to resolve fear at the source which is within our feelings and our bodies. We are best at overcoming our fears and insecurities when we let go of our egos. The best way to solve these is to feel and use the energy to take us towards the source.

My work is about having a system to overcome our fears very quickly and efficiently. Knowing how to do this will bring harmony to everything in our lives, especially our relationships. Having the ability of overcoming fear will also allows us to learn to have a peace of mind.

Parenting in a Higher Conscious World

So you know that life for you has had a few set-backs and you want to place blame on all sorts of situations and people from your past to say it was because of them that such and such happened. That is OK as we all did that it was the natural process of humanity for the conscious level it was at. But today we live in different times and at at far different level of conscious awareness then previously known. Some of the beauty in that, is that we no longer place blame we actually take responsibility for our co creative roles in this world and we act as such.

So now as life has new guidelines for success our parenting also has a new set of guidelines as we have to assimilate this expansion of humanities consciousness into our behaviors. The role of parenting gives us such a gift when we no longer have to exert control over our children we just nurture from within the empowered conscious level that children born today have inherent in their DNA code. Some of those higher conscious levels that are within our children are heightened energy, compassion, and energy body capabilities that are beyond the limited capabilities we as humans have known over the last generations. During the last 50 years an increase in people being born with expanded conscious abilities has taken place. Caregivers have noticed the increase in developmental qualities of children by seeing that children attain and learn developmental skills at a much faster rate then previously known. Other higher conscious traits are those that are spoken of when people discuss the crystal or indigo children. Those abilities are of an energy body nature in that these children are intuitively more aware of the unseen or quantum state then we were as children. Those abilities range from and are not limited to intuition, telepathic abilities, clairvoyance, clauraudience, astral projection, and quantum jumping and energy body healing. Why is it that these children can perform in such a way it is because their are born with a higher level of electromagnetic frequency emissions from their energy body self.

Before with our parenting we tended to resist out of our own fear of the unknown any of the signs for unseen world behavior that was surfacing before our very eyes and with this resistance of ours we acting in such a way to stop the energy coming to earth and therefore we slowed somewhat the evolution of humanity. But as great as the creative process is it will not be stopped and more and more children are born today with this higher vibrational frequency level. Parenting now takes on a new shift as we learn to embrace and bring forth the co-creative expression that children naturally possess, no longer fearing but openly welcoming the gifts of non-limitation that we see. Parenting just got a whole lot easier as you no longer have to teach but you guide forth that which is within children.

In doing so you relax in to a state of flowing a state of harmony and a state of love for it is with the love you put out that you in turn receive the love back. In fact anything you put out you will receive back. If you think this is not so, pay attention to your giving and know that it is the same as what you are receiving. There is no more blame. You create your reality and all that is displayed in your external world, is a reflection of your inner being. Creating well is natural and visible if you look to the children, you will see the now activity of creating in the moment and creating well in the moment. Children do this all the time they create something into more then it was. They change the rules without a thought that it cannot be done. They invent, create, play and enjoy all in the moment of their own magical world. Taking note of your child and all that is around them will allow you to provide much more in the way of the higher vibrations of life,in doing so you not only give them the vibrational energy atmosphere they thrive well in you will adjust your own energy to resonate with the new level inherent in the children. When parent and child are of similar energy vibrations all is right and harmonious in the world. When you find that there is a dissonance or mismatch in energy then conflict arises. Trust the process as evolution is moving forward to that which is greater and get on board with harmonizing your energy frequency with that of your children as they are far more advanced then you give them credit for.

Wake Up To A Higher Consciousness Using Brainwave Entrainment

Waking up to a higher consciousness, can also be called spiritual enlightenment, and is an amazing journey that you can brainwave entrainment, a scientifically proven technology that gently alters your brainwave frequency to a desired state, changing its consciousness, to aid you in a faster and more effective evolution.

Your consciousness is always awake and enlightened, but the amount of wakefulness or awareness that is present in any moment can vary. At different times in your life, you will experience different states of consciousness, all always on the edge of the potential for full awareness or enlightenment. You have infinite potential to expand and awaken into your higher consciousness or stay in a narrow or limited experience. Either way, all expressions of consciousness are equally valid and valuable.

Awakening to a higher consciousness can occur on an individual basis or can reflect a global consciousness and group collective. The more people awaken, the more our reality shifts.

And just because you may be spiritually awakening, doesn't mean that you won't make mistakes. What is different, is that you will reflect on these mistakes and find their value on your journey.

How Life Changes As You Awaken To A Higher Consciousness

· You no longer fear death but consider it as a part of your spiritual evolution, a reconnecting with "All That Is", or God. You recognize that the people that have affected you, no matter how long they were with you, were there for a mutual spiritual journey and that you may reconnect with them in another plane.

· You may change your perspective on life. You may lose your ability to "hate" anyone, no matter the circumstances. You recognize how someone negative in your life may be a source of spiritual education and part of a plan.

· You may find that you isolate yourself from people you used to be close to or are related to. It is you that they are uncomfortable with. You are on a different journey and they may not understand your spiritual evolution.

· You may view things differently. You recognize that retaliating with the same energy as someone negative, is only increasing the negative energy. You forgive those who have hurt you and you forgive yourself.

· You realize that this "lifetime" is only part of a very large "lifetime" and that you have a long way to go and may return to this world in the future.

· You presence encompasses positivity and in that light, you raise the vibration of any negativity that you encounter.

· You lose your strong connection to your ego and materialism. Money and its acquisition lose their importance to you. You appreciate being in the world and connected to nature. You feel that you could never harm anything again... even a tree or a bug.

· You feel a deeper connection to life, including every living and non-living thing on the Earth and Universe. You realize what affects someone else, also affects you.

Once you decide to awaken to a higher consciousness, and do it the easy way with brainwave entrainment, you can't go back.

You have opened the door to your spiritual evolution. Your spiritual awakening will change your life, and those around you, in the most positive way.

You will become more like your higher self, everyday.

Awaken to your higher consciousness in a strong but gentle way, using specifically designed brainwave entrainment recordings.

You Can Attain a Higher Level of Consciousness If You Want

Have you ever wondered if there is more to life than what you are experiencing? If you are like most people, you live in a state of consciousness below that which is attainable. There are different levels of consciousness and most people live in the lower levels their entire lives never knowing that it is possible to go higher. Experiential research that I and my cohorts have done over the years shows, without a doubt, that there are five levels of consciousness. See if you agree with me as we go through the five levels.

Waking Sleep

This is the lowest level of consciousness, and surprisingly, this is where most people spend most of their time while they are awake. Waking sleep is when the body is doing one thing and the mind is thinking of something else. An example would be walking down a flight of stairs while thinking about having a conversation with someone you were talking to an hour ago. Another example would be driving a car while thinking about what you are going to do when you get to your destination. The scary part is, when you get to your destination you don't remember many of the places you passed while driving. Probably we can all relate to our own experiences of waking sleep. You can even be in waking sleep while reading a book or reading this article. You are reading but your mind is thinking about something else. This kind of waking sleep is called "mindless reading."

Waking sleep can be dangerous because the mind is not "in tune" with what the body is doing. Thousands of automobile wrecks occur every year due to waking sleep. Falling down stairs, falling off ladders, walking off scaffolding, sawing off fingers are some more examples of what can happen during waking sleep. I had a good friend in high school who was plowing a field next to the one I was plowing. The farmer we were working for told him to go down the road and start plowing the next field when he got through. When he finished plowing the field he drove down the road and forgot to take the plow up out of the ground and plowed up a bridge. I could hear the rumbling of the wooden planks over the sound of my tractor's engine. He later confided in me and told me that he was thinking about his girlfriend.

Absorption

This is the second stage of consciousness, but it isn't much better than waking sleep. When in absorption you are not aware of yourself because you are completely engrossed in some kind of activity or situation. Watching a move, in which you are totally engrossed, is a good example. You become so "caught up" in the movie that you feel as though you are with the actors and experiencing what they are supposedly experiencing. You are totally unaware of your surroundings. Your heart is beating fast, your palms are sweaty, you are not even aware of the person sitting next to you, the edges of the screen or the theater itself. You are totally absorbed in the movie.

Absorption can occur while in deep thought, reading a book, staring into a fire, listening to music. This might seem like waking sleep but it isn't. In absorption, the mind is completely immersed in the object and there is no sense of what the body is doing or what's going on around you. In waking sleep there is still some sense of what your body is doing and vaguely what's happening around you.

The effects of absorption can be recognized best after you have experienced it. Coming out of absorption can be interesting because it is much like having been asleep and oblivious to yourself and the immediate surroundings. Interestingly, when you come out of absorption, it appears as though time has passed very quickly. You may take a look at the clock and say something like, "Where did the time go?"

Attention

For most people, attention is about as far as they will go in consciousness because they don't know that it is possible to go further. In school, students are often told by their teachers to "pay attention." A person can be "paying attention" and all of a sudden fall back into absorption or waking sleep without knowing it. Attention requires effort, while absorption and waking sleep require no effort at all. Unlike absorption, however, there is a feeling of separation between the observer and the observed - you and the object. For example, if you are looking at a tree, you experience being separate from the tree and that there is distance and space between you and the tree.

Let's go back to the example of watching a move. This time rather than being absorbed you remain attentive to things around you - the person next to you, the frame around the movie screen, people coming and going in the theatre. You are not disturbed by what's going on around you. You are simply attentive. If your focus suddenly becomes narrower and deeper, and you become emotionally involved in the movie you can easily slip back into absorption. This is neither good nor bad, it just is. It is something you can experience for yourself. You can experience going back and forth between absorption and attention while doing most anything - running, riding a bike, walking, watching a ball game, watching television, talking with someone, etc.

Awareness

This level of consciousness is not difficult to experience - the difficulty comes in staying there because the mind will snap you automatically into waking sleep, absorption, or attention. Being aware is a higher level of consciousness than the first three. Awareness is simply noticing what is happening in you and around you with a very keen sense of understanding. You may be noticing cars whizzing by, people walking, birds flying overhead, dew on the grass, and so on. At the same time you are also aware of yourself. You may be walking and you are feeling your feet coming down heel to toe, hearing the "crunching" of the leaves, feeling your arms swinging, your breathing, and the wind blowing across your skin. Awareness is like opening up and letting things come to you - a field of experience opens and life is being fully and completely witnessed by you.

Awareness also includes the ability to observe things and events with impartiality and non-judgment. It is an acceptance of whatever is happening in your experience at this very moment - not a year ago, not yesterday, and not a minute ago. It means staying with the experience, whether it is "good" or "bad" and allow it to yield its meaning to you. This doesn't mean, However, that you let things happen without getting involved. If you see someone in need of help, you help them. If you hear a baby cry, you go see if something is wrong. Let the experience of awareness yield its meaning to you by understanding exactly what is happening within you and outside of you this very moment.

Practice staying in awareness by relaxing into the present moment. It is very important to remain relaxed at all times. The more relaxed you are, the more aware you become. But don't let your mind wander into the lower levels of waking sleep, absorption and attention. Stay alert, but also stay relaxed. You might think that these two terms, relaxed and alert, are opposing one another but they are not. In fact, they compliment one another. The mind is alert (aware) and at the same time it is not having any thoughts of the past or the future. In other words, the mind is attuned to the present moment. The body, as well, is relaxed and not tense. Move like a graceful dancer - fully alert and relaxed.

Pure Awareness

Pure awareness is the ultimate level of consciousness. It is somewhat like awareness but it is not so much an experience as it is a knowing. To go into pure awareness you must first of all be in the state of awareness. While in awareness all you have to do is expand your consciousness to include the infinite space inside of you and the infinite space outside of you. This may not be so easy at first, so use your imagination to focus inward into your body starting with a cell and go smaller into molecules and then into atoms, subatomic particles, and on into infinitely smaller and smaller particles. This is the infinite space inside. Do the same thing going outward into the space beyond your body - to the stars and planets, further and further indefinitely. This little trick of the imagination allows your consciousness to expand to its fullest limits.

Keep your consciousness expanded into infinity for as long as you can while walking around in a state of awareness - expanded awareness. Sooner or later your consciousness will shrink back into waking sleep, absorption or attention, and when it does, bring it back into expanded awareness. At some point in time, while practicing coming back into expanded awareness, you will feel as though you and everything are actually the same. At first, it may be for just an instant but when it happens, you are pure awareness. Existing in this state, no matter for how long, is not in the mind nor the body; it is knowing that everything is one. That is what pure awareness is all about. With practice, you will be able to stay in pure awareness longer and longer.

East Steps Towards Higher Consciousness

As many of you are already aware, we are living in an extraordinary time of great evolutionary change. We are in transition from one stage of consciousness to another. The old way of life is ending and new way is being born. This transition is occurring not only in the external world, as witnessed by our rapidly shifting reality, but also within our internal world. These challenging times ask us to look within, and to think more deeply about who we are, why we are here, and where humanity is headed.

We are living in a time where a higher stage of human awareness is unfolding. A higher consciousness means moving beyond our tried and true ways of seeing the world, and gaining a greater sense of clarity with new insights and understandings. What this really means is that we have reached an age where the old is going, and the new is in the process of being built. There is a future being created that we are all a part of.

This evolution of change is happening not only around us, but also within us. It's a transition where we leave behind the sense of "who I am" to become something more. We release our self-image of needing to be a "good" person, step beyond conformity and structure, and discover our true nature. With this new awareness reality is seen differently and new possibilities emerge. Changes in patterns of thought, emotions, and behavior occur. With higher conscious awareness we allow our light to shine through.

This transition and transformation is personal and can often be painful. We release the residue left by childhood wounds, the influence of society, and the fears held within to uncover the divinity within. By understanding what is happening to ourselves, humanity, and Earth, we are able collaborate with evolution with a measure of self-assuredness-becoming conscious participants and helping to ease the process.

Below are several ways that we can lead ourselves into an awakened state of future possibilities and expanded love.

Pay Attention to Your Senses

Higher consciousness is about being more aware. We're used to seeing the world around us in a certain way. Increase awareness by keeping your senses open. Look around and seek the possibilities. Listen to the sounds around you, in you, inside and outside. Smell the air in the room and notice if it feels alive or stagnant, warm or cool, heavy or light.

Look around and notice your surroundings, both near and far. How far out onto the horizon do you typically look? How often do you notice the ants or a tiny grain of sand? What looks different since you last noticed the things around you? Have the plants grown? Are the bookshelves dusty? Notice the different colors, textures, and shapes. Touch a few of the objects around you and notice how they feel. Slow down and taste your food more fully. Inhale the aroma, enjoy the colors, feel the temperature, and taste the subtle flavors.

Pay Attention to the Choices that Feel Good and Right to You

We often live our lives on autopilot, doing things the same way because that's the way we've always done them. Our thoughts and actions are reactionary, keeping us locked within the same level of consciousness. To expand your level of awareness, check in with yourself before making your next choice. Do you really want to say "yes" to that unexpected request because it feels right inside of you, or are you saying "yes" because you think you are supposed to? Do you like how your furniture and pictures are arranged, or is it just easier to keep them the way they are? Does your body want to eat that next bite of food... and if so, how do you know? Paying attention to the choices that feel good and right to you is how you learn to trust your heart and your spirit.

Pay Attention to Nature

Your spirit is the feeling of inner peace that exists beyond your everyday aches, pains, and so called negative emotions. Your spirit is the love that you seek, the connection that you crave, and who you really are. If you are wanting more connection with your authentic self, then being outdoors is a powerful way to nurture your spirit. Being in nature allows you to see beyond your human condition and remember that there is more going on than the current immediate drama of your life. There is more to who you are than the non-stop mental chatter going on in your head. When we're in nature, we breathe more deeply. We inhale life and recognize that we are a part of life itself.

Pay Attention to Your Intuition

We can't think our way into higher consciousness. It is gained as we embrace and nurture what is authentic within. We step beyond the patterns and cycles of our lives, and move beyond our short-term survival mode by learning how to listen to, and act upon, our intuition. Intuition is our ability to get a sense, understanding, or feeling about something. Intuition is about making new choices that move you forward into advantageous possibilities. As you pay more attention to your intuition, you are able to make heart-based decisions that lead to greater self-respect, uncover your natural talents, and enrich your relationship with yourself and life.

Conscious awareness is a feeling of being alive and bringing your spirit into your body, into life, and into humanity. Calmness, peace of mind, and decreased worry, anxiety, and stress are some of the byproducts of becoming more conscious. Follow the steps above and lead yourself into a world of new possibilities and expanded love.

How To Attain Higher Consciousness

Being in touch with our higher consciousness throughout moments in our lives can help us bring all the joy and fulfillment we fundamentally seek. The more we can connect with our higher self, the more we can bring balance to our world. With all the global changes we are going through this is the best thing we can do for ourselves.

The way to connect with our higher consciousness is to let it come to us, we cannot control this, what we can do is to prepare ourselves for this energy to flow through us. Yet we may want to control getting this because this is one of the most fulfilling and enlightening experiences we can have.

How we begin to open up to experiences of higher consciousness is by looking at ourselves as a whole. We are beings of energy, energy flows through us, that is what creates the lives we have. What is important is how our energy flows through us. When energy flows freely in us, that is when we have the greatest experiences and when it doesn't we can feel lost.

The functionality of our energy dynamics is not something that is commonly known, it is something that we ignore, maybe partially because we fear the unknown. We are conditioned to live in our minds, we are always thinking and we forget that there are other states of mind that we can have. When we want to improve a certain situation, we try to control our thoughts in order to control the outcome. What if we decided to seek a higher state of mind to improve a given situation instead?

When events in our lives work out really well, we have a great experience, we are filled with positive and rewarding energy. This energy is very powerful and we most likely use this towards an ego boost. A mental boost feels great, but it will quickly deplete the energy and we don't get any further benefits from that experience. What if we could properly harness it and take ourselves to a higher level of awareness?

When we look at ourselves as a whole, we see that our personal energy dynamics influence our minds and our minds influence our energy levels. In other words how we fundamentally feel affects the level of our thoughts and our thoughts influence how we feel. We can worry, think negatively or believe in ourselves and think positively. These type of thoughts we have will have a major influence on the experiences we get. Understanding this will motivate us to stay with the positive vibes and we can adapt our thinking to be more like this. But sometimes that can be impossible, that's when we have to understand how our energy dynamics are working and why. When we make the necessary changes on this level, it will affect every aspect of our being. Our energy will flow more freely and we rise to a higher level of consciousness which will cause us to grow much faster.

The main cause to the restriction in our energy flow is our fears. Fears can easily accumulate in us over time to the point we don't even realize we have them or that they are affecting us everyday. We let this happen because we use our minds to hide them through the creation of belief systems. Our minds alone cannot conquer fear because it is an energy. Only our feelings can bring us directly to fear. We don't have to avoid these feelings of fear when we can learn how to properly overcome them. This is what will free us.

The way to properly overcome fear is to start by surrendering to its energy. We have to feel it and follow it to the source. This will take some strength and courage but what are we without it. We just need enough motivation, it comes very strong when we realize how our lives have been suppressed because of them. Some fears will be easier than other to conquer. They are all interconnected therefore we have to respect their pattern of creation. The bigger fears cannot get conquered without overcoming the smaller fears that lead up to it.

Overcoming fear is the greatest gift we can give to ourselves, it frees up our energy and allows us to do better in so many aspects of our lives. During the breakthroughs of fear, its release of energy leads us towards higher consciousness where we see everything clearly. At the same time we can let go of the restrictive belief systems we created and free our minds to new wisdom.

Our ego boosts are also created by fear, therefore when we can recognize that we can learn to eventually let higher consciousness flow in when we have boosts of energy. When we look at ourselves as a mind-body battle, we learn to wake up from our bubbles and begin to truly experience reality. This is how we can connect with our true potential and bring balance to this world.

I have written a simple manuscript for guidance into recovering your energy and conquering your fears so that we can free our minds. This simple view can lead us to expand our consciousness and evolve into freedom.

The Secret To Living From Your Higher Self

What does it mean to live from your higher self? The idea of the higher self is an age old spiritual understanding and it is one of the universal beliefs present in virtually every religion and tradition from the beginning of time. When primitive man stared up at the night sky, transfixed by the moon and stars he realized that there is something bigger than himself and that there is a universal intelligence behind life and creation. Even though all this seemed much beyond himself, primitive man realized his intricate connection to this life force - always seeking ways to connect to it and to strengthen his relationship to That which he felt an indescribable connection to.

Much has changed since then, yet our spiritual ideal remains the same. We want to know what's beyond ourselves and want to know what or who is behind it all. Where does life come from, where are we going and why are we here? One of the great challenges we face in modern living is finding a spiritual path amidst the complexities of life. It seems like we are drowning in possibilities and options and like a dog chasing it's own tail, we are chasing ways to escape it all. More money, more success, more love, more happiness, greater influence...The irony is that we don't need more, but less because piling on more and more will only remove us further from a sense of inner peace.

The Transcendentalists believed that living an authentic life was to live close to your Source (God) and that simplicity was the path to connecting and knowing God. In our modern life we tend to categorize everything. We have a work life, a love life, a personal life and worse of all a 'spiritual life'. When we separate all the different aspects of ourselves what we do is to deny ourselves the synergy that comes from being a totally integrated person. To separate spirituality from your everyday life is to deny yourself the divine guidance that is available to you at all times and in everything you do.

The beliefs that come with separating your spiritual life from your everyday life, is that you are primarily a person with a soul or a spirit. The great insight however is that you are not a body with a soul, but that you are a soul with a body. Who you really are, is not your body or your mind, but your spirit - that invisible part deep down inside. Your body is nothing but a suit you have to wear in order to function in this dimension of life.

It's so easy to loose perspective and forget your higher self in the pursuits of everyday life. Living from your higher self means that you are consciously living a spiritual life. Underneath the veil of physicality there is an infiniteness to life and there is a bigger picture. The majority of people are consumed by their sensory perceptions of life; by facts and analytical thinking. Underneath it all there is an invisible force that is the real driving force behind life.

Living from your higher self starts with the spiritual realization that you are not your body or your mind or your personality, but that you are your spirit. Through conscious growth and raising your spiritual awareness you can start to strengthen your spiritual connection. As you consciously live with the awareness of your higher self you will be able to transcend many of the trivialities of life and become self reliant. Divine guidance is available to you at all time. You simply have to look deep within yourself. You will become more able in integrating your life and all the different aspects of the life experience when you realize that all of life is spiritual.

There is an invisible, intangible yet very real part of you that is the real You. Remind yourself of this constantly and know that it is your higher self that is eternally connected to God. Through your higher self you have divine guidance available to you, you simply have to place your trust in it.
